A simple 1–10 scoring system across five categories. Use it to compare brands consistently, even when styles are very different.

The Index

Vietnam Bridal Index

The Vietnam Bridal Index is an independent scoring system designed to help brides evaluate bridal brands more objectively. Each brand is assessed across several key criteria that affect both the quality and experience of a wedding dress.

Inner corset construction

Structure, support, shaping, internal engineering.

Finishing quality

Stitching precision, lace placement, hemming, beadwork, symmetry.

Comfort against the skin

Lining softness, itchiness, breathability, weight distribution.

English communication ability

Clarity, responsiveness, professionalism for international brides.

Overall value for money

Fairness of quality delivered relative to the brand's price tier.

Score bands

How each category is graded

Every category uses the same 1–10 band structure so scores stay comparable between very different brands.

Inner corset quality

1–10

Measures: structure, support, shaping, internal engineering, boning quality.

1–2
Structural failure. Poor support. Collapsing shape. Unstable bodice.
3–4
Weak shaping. Minimal boning. Uneven construction.
5–6
Acceptable to standard professional corsetry. Stable fit.
7–8
Good to strong sculpted structure. Reinforced seams. Balanced support.
9–10
Excellent to couture-level internal engineering. Precise, reinforced, invisible craftsmanship.

Finishing quality

1–10

Measures: stitching precision, lace placement, hemming, beadwork, symmetry.

1–2
Visible construction flaws. Crooked seams. Poor attachment.
3–4
Loose threads. Uneven finishing. Noticeable asymmetry.
5–6
Acceptable to clean professional finishing. Minor imperfections possible.
7–8
Very neat finishing. Balanced alignment. Minimal visible flaws.
9–10
Precision to couture finishing. Clean hand-application. Seam blending nearly invisible.

Skin comfort level

1–10

Measures: lining softness, itchiness, breathability, weight distribution.

1–2
Very uncomfortable. Strong itching. Painful wear.
3–4
Noticeable discomfort. Stiff fabric. Limited breathability.
5–6
Acceptable to comfortable for moderate wear. Minor stiffness.
7–8
Good comfort for several hours. Soft interior and breathable feel.
9–10
Very soft, flexible, long-wear comfort. Lightweight feel despite structure.

English communication level

1–10

Measures: clarity, responsiveness, professionalism for international brides.

1–2
Cannot communicate effectively in English.
3–4
Very basic English. Frequent misunderstandings. Simple sentences only.
5–6
Understandable and functional. Can discuss fittings with effort.
7–8
Clear and confident discussion of alterations and technical details.
9–10
Fluent, professional, responsive. Strong fashion vocabulary.

Value to money ratio

1–10

Measures: quality delivered relative to price tier.

1–2
Significantly overpriced for quality delivered.
3–4
Poor value for money. Below expectation for the price bracket.
5–6
Fair to reasonable value within its tier.
7–8
Good to strong value. Quality clearly matches the cost.
9–10
Excellent to exceptional value. High craftsmanship for the price tier.
Composite

Social Sentiment Index (SSI)

The Social Sentiment Index (SSI) is a 0–10 composite score based on NLP analysis of public reviews, Reddit discussions, and social media engagement (2023–2025). It summarizes the brand "vibe" across Trust, Quality, and Communication.

9.5–10
"Gold standard." Near-zero negative feedback. Customers actively defend and recommend the brand.
High-Trust Elite
8.5–9.4
Reliable excellence. Strong craftsmanship and service. Any minor issues are typically resolved quickly.
Boutique Standard
7.5–8.4
Good but niche. High-quality work with possible friction points (slower communication, intimidating studio feel, or price-to-value skepticism).
Emerging / Polarized
Under 7.5
Proceed with caution. Either limited data footprint or mixed experiences (some love it, others report notable service issues).
